Leadership Matters Course

Our Vision

1. Aiming at leaders
The aim is the training of leaders and potential leaders doing cross cultural work around the world, both expatriate workers and national leaders, especially those working in the developing, non-western world.

2. Expanding the number of courses
ITA wants to be able to deliver eight to twelve courses per year, allowing three to four hundred leaders and potential leaders to be further developed with this training.

3. Training in several languages.
Because of requests received ITA wants to see the course given not just in English, but also in Spanish, French and Mandarin. Wholehearted support will be given to other translation initiatives as well, in languages such as Korean. That is a big job and a major challenge!

4. Special emphasis on the training of trainers
ITA recognizes the development of more experienced and capable trainers as the key to the expected and desired growth in the number of courses given each year. These need to be trainers with life experience in the areas they give training in, to assure the integrity of the course.

5. A growing network of participating organizations
The network of participating organizations in ITA is growing. We expect between fifteen and twenty to be linked with us. These participating organizations are involved in releasing members of their staff to become trainers, encouraging members of their organization to attend as part of their leadership development eforts, sharing in the administrative costs and in helping to provide these courses at a reasonable price.

We have a partnership between CMA, Caleb, OM, Wycliffe, Tentmakers, Freewill Baptist International and World Horizons. We are committed to working to expand this group in the coming years, realizing that such working together has tremendous benefits to all. We are encouraged that we already have had participants from organizations such as MMM, Global Partners, International China Concern, Horizons, Trans World Radio and Interserve, national church leaders and a number of other organizations.
